Booking tickets

Vueling tickets can be bought on the Vueling website, by calling the Vueling reservation centre, through many travel booking websites and via traditional travel agencies.

Vueling offer tickets in three fare classes: Basic, Optima and Excellence.

Basic-tickets are the cheapest tickets offered by Vueling. No hold luggage is included in the Basic fare and you will be assigned a seat by the airline. You can upgrade a Basic ticket with hold luggage and a seat of your choice.

The Excellence fare class is more or less a traditional full-fare class where changes and cancellation can be done with a full refund.

Finding low priced flights on Vueling.com

For the best Vueling.com ticket prices, book well in advance of your travel date and travel light, with hand luggage only.

In general you will get the best price by booking at the Vueling website.

Vueling regularly conduct sales periods where tickets are available at reduced fares, e.g. € 20 below the previous fare. Subscribe to Vueling's Vuela! newsletter for information about such offers.

Pay with a debit card, Vueling card or SEPA direct debit to avoid a 2% payment fee.

Rebooking, change of name and cancelling tickets

Tickets can be changed until 2 hours before departure on Vueling's website.

The fee for changing the date or time on a Basic or Optima ticket is € 50 and you must pay any fare difference between the old and the new tickets. Excellence tickets can be changed by only paying the fare difference between your old and new tickets.

Name changes are allowed for a fee of € 50 and by paying any fare difference. Holders of Excellence tickets can make name changes by only paying any fare difference.

No refund is issued for cancelled or not used Basic or Optima tickets. On request, Vueling.com will refund airport fees and security fees, but only after deducting a processing fee of € 15. If you cancel an Excellence-ticket no later than 2 hours before departure time, you will receive a full refund exclusive of the payment fee and any extra services bought.

You can avoid the change fee on a Basic or Optima ticket by adding the FlexFly option when booking the ticket. By paying for FlexFly, you can later make one change to the ticket by only paying any difference in fare between the old and the new tickets.

Vueling.com baggage rules

Passengers with Basic tickets must pay extra for all checked in luggage. The Optima and Excellence fare classes include one piece of checked in luggage in the standard fare.

Each checked luggage item can have a weight of up to 23 kg. Any weight above this will incur a high per kg excess baggage weight fee.

You can check in up to three hold luggage items. The second and third items are much more expensive than the first.

Vueling allow one piece of carry-on luggage with a size of no more than 55 x 40 x 20 cm and a weight of no more than 10 kg. In addition you can bring on-board a smaller bag which must fit under the seat in front of you and be no larger than 35 x 20 x 20 cm.

Checking in for your flight

Vueling offer on-line check-in for flights from most airports. Traditional airport check-in is available at all Vueling airports.

On-line check-in closes 4 hours before departure for most airports. For a few airports on-line check-in closes 24 hours before departure, currently: Cardiff, Lyon, Prague and London Heathrow airports.

Airport check-in counters at most airports closes 40 minutes before departure. Exceptions to this rule are described here.

If you check in on-line and travel without checked in luggage, you may go directly to the gate. If you check in on-line and have checked in luggage, you must go to one of the Vueling check-in counters to drop your bags.

Boarding ends 20 minutes before departure.
